Los Skarnales


Los Skarnales
is a seven-piece rock band that mixes in the genres of danzon, cumbia, reggae, ska and cantina music with a punk rock attitude. The band formed in 1993 and has opended for international stars like The Specials and King Chango. The band also traveled to Mexico for a preformance on televised variety shon Desvelados.

John Ramirez


John Ramirez (age 17) is the winner of 2008's The Big Squeeze accordion comprofessional petition, a multi-state competition for non-professional players under the age of 25. The event, sponsored by Texas Folklife, was recently the subject of a documentary by director Hector Galan. The documentary aired on Houston's PBS.
